(Image courtesy of TASA)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>FORMOSAT-8A is the first satellite of Taiwan&#8217;s FORMOSAT-8 optical Earth observation constellation, the country&#8217;s first domestically developed optical remote sensing constellation. Its 0.7-meter resolution\u2014nearly six times finer than FORMOSAT-5\u2014generates large volumes of data that must be processed within limited LEO communication windows. HyperSDR supports a 600 Mbps downlink data rate and up to 2.25 Gbps of processing throughput per channel. To date, the system has decoded more than 2 TB of FS-8A downlink data, with data collection continuing across subsequent orbital passes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"prntal\"><i>&#8220;Higher-resolution imagery means larger data volumes and places greater demands on ground equipment within limited communication windows,&#8221; said Dr. RJ Chen, Director of R&amp;D at YTTEK. &#8220;As satellite constellations expand, flexible and high-performance ground systems will become increasingly important for managing frequent satellite passes and high-volume data reception.&#8221;<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Built on an FPGA-powered Software-Defined Radio (SDR) architecture, HyperSDR can be software-reconfigured to support different frequency bands, satellite missions, and communication protocols, with frequency coverage from 10 MHz to 15 GHz.
