Improving p\u0101ngarau | maths outcomes remain a key priority across Aotearoa New Zealand, for all students including those learning in and through te reo M\u0101ori.<\/p>\n

To achieve this key priority, the H\u0101pai P\u0101ngarau Acceleration <\/i>programme was designed to lift achievement and accelerate progress of Tau 7 & 8 | Year 7 & 8 students by delivering p\u0101ngarau | maths learning through te reo M\u0101ori, enabling students to learn p\u0101ngarau in a culturally meaningful way.<\/p>\n

The programme is being delivered through a collaboration between the Ministry of Education, New Zealand and Matific, a global digital maths platform, combining curriculum-aligned content, adaptive technology, and a structured model designed for use in real classrooms<\/b>.<\/p>\n

How Matific supports accelerated learning in P\u0101ngarau | Maths<\/b><\/p>\n

The rollout delivers a fully immersive p\u0101ngarau (mathematics) experience in te reo M\u0101ori<\/b>, aligned to the H\u0101pai P\u0101ngarau framework and integrated into classroom teaching.<\/p>\n

The 12-week acceleration programme leverages Matific’s research-backed, game-based platform to personalise learning pathways and support students at their current level<\/b>. It will run across three cohorts throughout the year, reaching multiple kura and schools and addresses foundational gaps in p\u0101ngarau understanding of number, operations, fractions, and decimals.<\/p>\n

Scaling high-quality maths learning across languages and education systems<\/b><\/p>\n

A te reo M\u0101ori p\u0101ngarau learning experience has been designed to meet curriculum requirements and work effectively at scale in real classrooms.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Education New Zealand has led curriculum alignment and programme design, while Matific provides the pedagogy-first platform and infrastructure required for national-scale implementation<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Rather than simple translation, the rollout includes:<\/p>\n
