Together with the interim dividend of <span class=\"xn-money\">HK$1<\/span>.4\u00a0cents per ordinary share, this brings the total dividend for FY2023\/2024\u00a0to <span class=\"xn-money\">HK$7<\/span>.7\u00a0cents per ordinary share.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. <span class=\"xn-person\">Winston Yau<\/span>-lai Lo, Executive Chairman of Vitasoy International Holdings Limited, said, &#8220;In FY2023\/2024, we improved structural profitability of the Group by increasing operating efficiency\u00a0and enhancing field sales execution. As a responsible company, we will also continue to advance our environmental, social and governance performance in accordance with our Sustainability Framework and the latest regulatory requirements.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mainland <span class=\"xn-location\">China<\/span> &#8211;<br \/>Restored revenue growth in the second half, a step change towards total Financial Year profitability<\/p>\n<p>Mainland <span class=\"xn-location\">China<\/span> revenues were flat in RMB year-on-year as 10% growth in the second half enabled RMB29\u00a0million profit from operations, reversing the revenue drop during the first half of the year. The performance was balanced across brand platforms, channels and regions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Profit from operations for the year increased significantly by 402% in local currency terms, driven by higher pricing, efficient spending on trade promotions as well as effective containment of operating expenses.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hong Kong Operation\u00a0(Hong Kong SAR<span>[1]<\/span>, Macau SAR<span>[2]<\/span>\u00a0and Exports) &#8211;<br \/>Sustained growth behind core business strengths and incremental product innovation<\/p>\n<p>Vitasoy&#8217;s Hong Kong Operation grew revenue and profit, driven by its core business strengths, effective leveraging of selective innovation, improved consumption in convenience stores and the Vitaland school business&#8217;s\u00a0return to normal.<\/p>\n<p>Profit from operations increased 3%. Excluding COVID-19-related government subsidies, however, profit from operations growth was actually\u00a0a much more significant 42%, as a result of Vitasoy&#8217;s\u00a0efforts to achieve savings in material and production costs.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"xn-location\">Australia<\/span> and <span class=\"xn-location\">New Zealand<\/span> &#8211;<br \/>Factory attainment and logistics transition issues (now being addressed) affected results<\/p>\n<p>Despite strong demand for\u00a0our\u00a0plant-based products, revenue during FY2023\/2024 decreased in local currency and <span class=\"xn-location\">Hong Kong<\/span> dollar terms, owing to an\u00a0out-of-stock situation which\u00a0arose from temporary manufacturing attainment and logistic issues. Vitasoy is\u00a0now addressing these issues and providing comprehensive Group-wide support for the manufacturing plant in <span class=\"xn-location\">Australia<\/span> to ensure accelerated and sustained recovery of production capacity and stability in FY2024\/2025.<\/p>\n<p>Riding on the positive feedback and growth of VITASOY Soy Greek-style Yogurt, Vitasoy\u00a0introduced a whole new oat-based yogurt portfolio. The expanded offerings drove growth momentum on this platform.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the out-of-stock situation, intensified market competition, and high raw material, logistics and overhead costs as well as other operating expenses incurred during the transition to full ownership\u00a0which took place on 13th\u00a0February 2023, the market\u00a0registered an operating loss of AUD16 million for FY2023\/2024.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"xn-location\">Singapore<\/span> &#8211;<br \/>Beverages sales decline ahead of distributor change,\u00a0offsetting strong tofu export growth<\/p>\n<p>Revenue dropped slightly by 2% in local currency terms, which was \u00a0on par in <span class=\"xn-location\">Hong Kong<\/span> dollar terms. A temporary decline in beverage sales ahead of changing the\u00a0distributor affected overall performance and offset positive growth in tofu exports.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The higher operating loss was mainly due to increasing raw material costs and price competition, which was partially offset by effective control of operating expenses.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"xn-location\">The Philippines<\/span> &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>The joint venture with Universal Robina Corporation\u00a0will continue to invest in building the VITASOY brand and raising soy category awareness and adoption through promotion trials to grow sales and market share. In addition, the business\u00a0will continue to enhance its local manufacturing capabilities in order to increase the product offerings and drive efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>General Outlook<\/p>\n<p>Vitasoy\u00a0remains well positioned to deliver long-term value and growth in the\u00a0markets, thanks to the\u00a0strong brand equity and core product portfolio and ongoing innovation. A temporary decline in beverage sales ahead of changing the\u00a0distributor affected overall performance and offset positive growth in tofu exports.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The higher operating loss was mainly due to increasing raw material costs and price competition, which was partially offset by effective control of operating expenses.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"xn-location\">The Philippines<\/span> &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>The joint venture with Universal Robina Corporation\u00a0will continue to invest in building the VITASOY brand and raising soy category awareness and adoption through promotion trials to grow sales and market share.
