Thanks to your tireless efforts, there is hope that one day all types of brain cancer can be cured.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Monje and Winkler have made transformative discoveries by showing that the\u00a0everyday activity\u00a0that takes place in the brain drives the development of cancers within it. Recent studies further show\u00a0that\u00a0the\u00a0in\ufb02uence of the nervous system is\u00a0not only limited\u00a0to\u00a0tumours\u00a0in\u00a0the brain, but also\u00a0tumours throughout the body.<\/p>\n<p>These remarkable \ufb01ndings have\u00a0laid the\u00a0foundation for\u00a0an entirely\u00a0new\u00a0\ufb01eld\u00a0of research\u00a0called\u00a0&#8216;Cancer Neuroscience&#8217;\u00a0that\u00a0represents\u00a0a\u00a0paradigm\u00a0shift\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0understanding\u00a0of\u00a0these cancers,\u00a0and\u00a0which\u00a0offers vital new opportunities for treatment.
