Tracing design&#8217;s crucial role in nation-building over the past six decades, the first part of the showcase spotlights key milestones that demonstrate how strategic foresight and meticulous execution have made <span class=\"xn-location\">Singapore<\/span> a global success story by design. The works will reflect how <span class=\"xn-location\">Singapore&#8217;s<\/span> leading contemporary designers are creating design-driven solutions to tackle urgent global challenges, while reducing environmental impact and elevating everyday lives.<\/p>\n<p>This includes a woven screen designed by <b><span class=\"xn-person\">Sacha Leong<\/span><\/b><b> (Nice Projects)<\/b> in response to overcrowding in cities, to a versatile bag that seamlessly adapts to its users by <b><span class=\"xn-person\">Claudia Poh<\/span> (Werable)<\/b>.\u00a0Design collective <b>FARM, Vouse <\/b>and<b> Changi General Hospital<\/b> will present their work on a dynamic digital twin of the hospital&#8217;s Emergency Department to aid holistic decision-making for enhanced patient care.<\/p>\n<p>The influence of <span class=\"xn-location\">Singapore&#8217;s<\/span> rich cultural heritage will also be showcased in new works by <b>Supermama<\/b>, which modernises the traditional Japanese art form of <i>Kintsugi<\/i> with 3D-printed resin and algorithmic growth patterns, and <b><span class=\"xn-person\">Olivia Lee<\/span><\/b>, who reimagines the steel solar cooker, commonplace in <span class=\"xn-location\">Southeast Asia<\/span>, to spark a broader reflection of the Sun&#8217;s role as a futuristic source of energy.<\/p>\n<p>Exploring sustainable methods and materials is <b><span class=\"xn-person\">Ng Sze Kiat<\/span> (Bewilder),<\/b> who presents a new line of Fungariums developed using stainless steel, and the <i>Knots Stool<\/i> by <b><span class=\"xn-person\">Wei Xiang<\/span> <\/b>that transforms old blankets or curtains into functional furniture with simple knots.
