LITTLE ROCK, Ark.<\/span><\/span>, Dec. 19, 2024<\/span><\/span> \/PRNewswire\/ — Montrose Environmental Group, Inc. (NYSE: MEG), a global environmental solutions company, was selected to install its per- and\u00a0polyfluorinated substances (PFAS) mobile\u00a0treatment system at Sydney Water’s Cascade Water Filtration Plant (WFP) outside of Sydney, Australia<\/span> to address PFAS in drinking water.<\/p>\n

In June 2024,\u00a0perfluorooctane\u00a0sulfonate (PFOS) and\u00a0PFHxS, two forms of PFAS, were detected in the\u00a0outlet of\u00a0the Cascade WFP. Sydney Water<\/span> took\u00a0prompt\u00a0action to find a solution that would quickly begin removing PFAS compounds from drinking water.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As a leading provider of water treatment solutions in Australia<\/span> and a pioneer in\u00a0treating PFAS-impacted water in the country, Montrose<\/span> was engaged by Sydney\u00a0Water, Australia’s<\/span> largest water utility,\u00a0to implement a mobile solution for the immediate treatment of drinking water\u00a0while Sydney Water<\/span> pursues long-term upgrades to the Cascade WFP. Installing Montrose’s<\/span> system at the WFP will help reduce PFAS to below the limits proposed in the draft Australian Drinking Water Guidelines, which are set to be finalized in April 2025<\/span>.<\/p>\n
