The Association, ever faithful to the principles established by its founders Nelly and Marcel Tilloy<\/span>, has been shining and standing solidly on its values since 1954, traveling the world in more than 65 countries and 580 properties from one stop to another on the Routes du Bonheur.<\/p>\n

PARIS<\/span>, May 10, 2024<\/span> \/PRNewswire\/ — On May 12, 1954<\/span>, the Relais de Campagne is born:\u00a0eight properties located between Paris<\/span> and Nice<\/span> unite under the slogan\u00a0‘La Route du Bonheur’\u2013The Road to Happiness. They would write the first chapter in the history of the Association,\u00a0a meaningful movement that inspires its guests to discover the world in the most beautiful of ways.<\/p>\n

Starting in 1960,\u00a0Relais de Campagne expands outside of France\u00a0with its first European properties.<\/p>\n

In 1974,\u00a0Relais de Campagne merges with Ch\u00e2teaux H\u00f4tels to become Relais & Ch\u00e2teaux. That same year, the association creates Relais Gourmands\u00a0to highlight gastronomy within its properties.<\/p>\n

In 1975,\u00a0Relais & Ch\u00e2teaux welcomes its first properties in the USA<\/span>, Canada<\/span> and Japan<\/span>.<\/p>\n

By 1992,\u00a0Relais & Ch\u00e2teaux expands its global footprint to 40 countries.<\/p>\n

In 2014,\u00a0Relais & Ch\u00e2teaux presents its Vision with 20 commitments\u00a0at UNESCO, pledging to preserve the world’s cuisines,\u00a0share its passion for beauty and taste and promote a more humane world.<\/p>\n

Today, in 2024, the Association, presided by Laurent\u00a0Gardinier, gathers 580 unique properties throughout the world, owned and operated by independent entrepreneurs who are passionate about their craft and deeply committed to forging warm, lasting relationships with their guests.<\/p>\n
