Ahead of the boxer&#8217;s <span class=\"xn-chron\">May 18<\/span> fight with <span class=\"xn-person\">Tyson Fury<\/span> to decide the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World,\u00a0Usyk is partnering Ukrainian energy company\u00a0DTEK to draw global\u00a0attention to the plight of <span class=\"xn-location\">Ukraine&#8217;s<\/span>\u00a0civilian power system.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div>   <a href=\"https:\/\/mma.prnasia.com\/media2\/2407708\/DTEK.jpg?p=medium600\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a>   <br \/>   <span>Ukrainian World Heavyweight Champion Oleksandr Usyk in training ahead of his title fight against Britain\u2019s Tyson Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on May 18.<\/span>  <\/div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Since launching its full-scale invasion of <span class=\"xn-location\">Ukraine<\/span> in 2022, <span class=\"xn-location\">Russia<\/span> has damaged or destroyed 50% of the country&#8217;s energy system. Just this spring, the enemy has damaged or destroyed 80% of <span class=\"xn-location\">Ukraine&#8217;s<\/span> thermal power capacity, 30% of hydro-electrical facilities and dozens of critical\u00a0substations across the country. According to the Ministry of Energy of <span class=\"xn-location\">Ukraine<\/span>, the damage to the power system, excluding the latest attacks, had already amounted to <span class=\"xn-money\">$11.5 billion<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Usyk will be supported in <span class=\"xn-location\">Riyadh&#8217;s<\/span> Kingdom Stadium by around 30 war veterans who have returned to work at\u00a0DTEK after frontline action in some of the war&#8217;s most intense battles.<\/p>\n<p>The #FightForLight partnership between Usyk and DTEK aims to highlight the critical state of <span class=\"xn-location\">Ukraine&#8217;s<\/span> energy sector to global allies and to appeal for urgent technical assistance (such as replacement generators, transformers and turbines) to energy companies across the sector, before the onset of winter in six months&#8217; time.<\/p>\n<p>DTEK CEO <span class=\"xn-person\">Maxim Timchenko<\/span> said: &#8220;DTEK is doing everything possible to draw the attention of the world community to the energy infrastructure destroyed by the enemy and the need to restore it and protect it from new criminal attacks by <span class=\"xn-location\">Russia<\/span>.
